Ally at the Celtic Whiskey Shop called me one day to say he had stumbled across a rare and almost forgotten cask of Irish Whiskey. Originally owned by Mr William J. Napier of the Central Bar in Lisburn, Northern Ireland, this rare whiskey had been under wraps for almost half a century, and was crying out to be bottled and unleashed to those with a discerning nose for something unique. The challenge of this project was to bring to life the story of the cask’s journey from the distillery in Tullamore, to the Central Bar in Lisburn, to the Celtic Whiskey Shop on Dawson Street. The design of the bottle labelling and packaging was based on the story of the original cask owner Mr Napier, incorporating details of the Napier family heraldic crest. A limited run of 50 die cut labels and security seals were printed in 4 spot colours including a special metallic gold ink, and the bottle was finally presented in a handmade mahogany gift case.
